How to tighten a loose joint/peg

An alternate way to tighten up pegs on your kit and avoid loose parts.

This is a common issue with a lot of Gunpla kits. Some refer to them as having a loose joint or peg.
Enthusiasts and Hobbyists do have a fix for loose joints and pegs with the use of good old house glue but I'm going to show you an almost permanent alternate solution.

This, in my opinion is better since good old glue is not water proof. Once good old glue becomes wet due to some reasons, it reverts back to its original form which is all gooey and sticky.

In this post,  we will be using super glue or quick dry glue. The reason that this is better is once applied, the super glue may some how becomes a plastic like material that's going to stick to the loos peg or joint.

Tools:
Super glue (mighty bond)

This custom shields fit loosely on the joint of this 105 Dagger X. Now to make it more stable and fit, Super glue is and alternate tool to use for the job.

STEP 1 : On the peg of the part that needs to be tighten, apply a drop of super glue and spread it through the sides of the peg.

STEP 2 :  Let the super glue dry. This way, when the droplet dries up, it would look as the plastic thicken with it.

Test fit:  check it out, fits better than earlier.

And that's how simple you can address this common issue.

  1. My samurai gundam's left hands, shields and the square that is attached on it's wrist is all loose and all of them are joints that are connected to pieces that move.

  2. This tip works, but aply with a toothstick and spread evenly on the ball joint, then let dry/cure for 24hr and check fit, then file and/or repeat glue process until done. You want the glue dry BEFORE you reinserert and check the fit.
